The East Light – Are you okay review

The East Light – Are you okay review

The young boys of The East Light has been working hard finally coming back with with their new digital single ‘Are you okay (넌 괜찮니). The cute boy next door style we saw in their last release (I got you) is long forgotten and they are ready to show us a more grown up style of music.

I remember watching little Woojin on Produce 101 season two and hearing him sing so sweetly. But listening to ‘Are you okay’ I was shook beyond life itself. His voice has deepend that the image for the band is more something I would expect from Day6. The song itself is a sort of laidback emotional song. The guitar especially is one of the things I noticed right off the bat. It sets the tone for the song really well and then Woojin starts rapping and he really projects the rap in such a way so that when Eunsung starts to sing so delicately can feel myself taking a deep breath because this is getting emotional isn’t it. I am impressed to say the least. The song is a big development in the right direction. It’s a very emotional song, I think the best way to describe it would be to say that, this is one of those perfect looking-out-a-rainy-buswindow song. Okay I will admit that I’ll miss their boyish image but perhaps we haven’t seen the last of it.
